Charlotte County Airport

The Charlotte County Airport is one of the most modern general aviation airports in Southwest Florida and is conveniently located near I-75. There are two lighted runways, one 6,500 foot and one 5,000 foot runway, navigational aids and a self fueling facility.

The Airport can accommodate various aircraft including larger corporate jets. There are several aircraft maintenance facilities on the field along with a restaurant, flight schools and an avionics dealer. Rental cars are available to the flying public.

At the airport there are T-hangars available for rent. The Charlotte County Airport is host to the annual Florida International Air Show, a large regional event that draws thousands of spectators from throughout Southwest Florida.

Commercial flight service resumes November 22, 2008 with Direct Air non-stop flights to Worcester, MA, Niagara Falls, NY, Plattsbrugh, NY, and Myrtle Beach, SC.

Rail

Seminole Gulf Railway is the premier provider of integrated freight transportation and logistics in SW Florida since 1987, operating 115 miles of track in Manatee, Sarasota, Desoto, Charlotte, Lee and Collier counties.

 

The Freight Switching in Punta Gorda (no passenger service) runs between Arcadia in DeSoto County to Vanderbilt Beach in Collier County.  Passenger excursions are from Bonita Springs, Fort Myers, Punta Gorda and Arcadia.
